D. I liked the quotes that Banquo said: “Thou hast it now, King, Cawdor, Glamis, all, as the weird women promised, and I fear thou play’dst most foully for’t” (Act 3 Scene 1 1-3) and “But hush, no more” (Act 3 Scene 1 10). I liked these quotes because it shows that Banquo has a good feeling that Macbeth murdered Duncan. Not only do these quotes reveal what Banquo thinks, but it also “hooks” and interests the reader to read more. E. I was not surprised when Macduff and Ross were talking about Macbeth becoming king and Malcolm and Donaldbain being the murderers: “They were suborned. Malcolm and Donaldbain, the king’s two sons, are stol’n away and fled, which puts upon them suspicion of the deed” (Act 2 Scene 4 24-27) and “’Gainst nature still! Thriftless ambition, that wilt raven up thine own life’s means! Then ‘tis most like the sovereignty will fall upon Macbeth” (Act 2 Scene 4 27-30). I wasn’t surprised because I had a good feeling that Macbeth’s plan would fool some people. I also wasn’t surprised that when Malcolm and Donalbain left for Ireland and England, it would seem as if they killed Duncan. G. If I were Macbeth I would be worried about Banquo. I would be worried because he seems to be the only person who has suspicion about Macbeth killing Duncan. Everyone else seems to be fooled by Macbeth’s plan, but not Banquo.

B) Act 3 Scene 1 is especially important because Banquo is pretty much about to figure out what actually happened behind King Duncan’s death. He has suspected Macbeth this whole time and Macbeth knows it. Banquo shows his suspicions when he says: “As the weird women promis’d, and I fear thou play'dst most foully for’t; yet it was said it should not stand in thy posterity.” The only way to get rid of Banquo’s suspicions is for Macbeth to kill Banquo. Macbeth has already killed an innocent king along with his innocent guardsmen. He will not let Banquo interfere with his plans to remain the Prince of Cumberland.
E) One reaction that I had was of sorrow for Banquo’s sons. Macbeth is obviously going to kill Banquo whose sons are supposed to be the new Kings. I feel sorry because if the prophecy that the witches does become true, the soon-to-be Kings will grow up without a father. I know a decent amount of kids who have lost a parent in their lives and it is terrible.
G) If I were Macbeth I’d be furious with myself for not thinking out a better way of selling the fact that I did not kill the king. With his own “Outrage” by killing the guards whom he accused, he made it look awfully suspicious, especially without even questioning them. His wife’s plan to accuse them because of their drunkenness seemed pretty decent, it wouldn’t look as suspicious and most importantly, Banquo wouldn’t have to die because of his suspicions.

Eddie DiTolla Mr. Thomas English 10 12 May 2014 Act2S4 Act3S1 I. I agree with Kyle because I too would be “furious with myself for not thinking out a better way of selling the fact that I did not kill the king. With his own “Outrage” by killing the guards whom he accused, he made it look awfully suspicious, especially without even questioning them. His wife’s plan to accuse them because of their drunkenness seemed pretty decent, it wouldn’t look as suspicious and most importantly, Banquo wouldn’t have to die because of his suspicions (Kyle).” D. One of the sets of lines I liked from these two parts were “A falcon tow’ring in her pride of place was by mousing owl hawk’s at and kill’d (pg. 37 lines 12-13).” I liked this set of lines because previously in the play someone said freaky stuff would happened because the chain of life was broken and now since the falcon is higher up in the chain of life the smaller chain of life the owl killed the falcon. Another set of lines I liked from these two parts were “Rather than so, come Fate into the list, And champion me to th’utterance (pg. 43 lines 72-73).” I liked this set of lines because it seems like that Macbeth wants to challenge the devil and that he knows he is going to hell now. B. Act 3 seems like that it will be an essential act to this play because I think that Banquo and other people start to figure out who actually murdered Duncan, even though Banquo has already started to try and figure it out.

D) I love the quotes from lines 25 to 47 that involved Banquo in act 3 scene 1. From “As far as will fill up the time” to “Ay, my good lord; our time does call upon’s”(Shakespeare 42). These lines really show that Macbeth is really suspicious of his friend Banquo, and he is planning on getting rid of him soon, along with the fact that Banquo is completely oblivious to this. It shows that, despite Macbeth trusting him as a friend, he doesn't trust him enough to let him live. It really shows how Macbeth is slowly losing his sanity because of what he did. These lines almost show that, to make sure that the prophecy will not come true, he will off Banquo's kids with him. Wether or not that actually succeeds is to be questioned.
G) I would be watching my back and not be answering Macbeth's questions if I were Banquo. I'd be suspicious if I was suddenly asked by the king personal questions,, while I knew a big secret about his regime. In fact I would actually go as deep as I possibly could before someone caught me. At least I would get a chance at finding the truth instead of being on Macbeth's hit list. Right now, I'd secretly leave the castle, and go as far as possible from Macbeth. He is getting close to killing anyone suspicious of Duncan's murder.
H) When making this specific scene, I'd make the palace as beautiful and bright as possible, ignoring the events that happened earlier. That way, the audience is completely thrown off when Macbeth starts planning Banquo's death. I would make it as warm and inviting as possible, then make the characters be as dark as possible when reciting lines.

Peter Boustani D. What I find very interesting is that I truly do not like Macbeth. I have read and watched stories with protagonists that many considered difficult root for but I never struggled in this way and thus I feel very conflicted. Macbeth is not necessarily likable in my opinion. He has something that I do not like and I find it in his asides, his lack of self control and his current mental state that is only going to get worse as the play progresses and I fear will ruin everything. I really don’t know why I don’t like Macbeth I just find him to be very unlikable and perhaps it is similar to why I did not like Holden when first started to read Catcher in the Rye, because he us such a flawed character. The final reason why I believe I dislike Macbeth the character is I feel a constant sense of impending doom and a lot of the time I find myself rooting for other characters such as Banquo to succeed in the story, which as we know from the prophecy, is to somewhat be the truth. “Lesser than Macbeth, and greater” C. I wonder if Shakespeare is ever going to explain or attempt to give and sort of ration reasoning for all of the odd things in nature going on throughout the play. I understand that this dates back to the idea of the Great Chain of Being and despite this story not being afraid to be supernatural I wonder if there will even be an attempt on explaining it. I. I disagree with Alfred with his idea of if he were the writer, to shock the readers by not giving any hints to the audience. I feel Macbeth fails much in execution depending on their goals as to what they intend to leave the audience with but I feel that in a show that takes much from this play, House of Cards, which I believe takes all the positives and executes them significantly better, I feel as though allowing us to see inside Macbeths mind makes it more interesting
